IN THE POTTING SHED -  GARDENING COURSES

These hands-on, practical courses will help you to improve your understanding of plants and gardening.

 

LOCATION

All the courses are held in Little Bytham, a quiet picturesque village in south Lincolnshire,

between Stamford and Grantham, a few minutes drive from the A1.

Course venues will vary between Rasell’s Nursery and a nearby cottage garden. For some courses both venues will be used and participants will walk from one to the other (400yds)

Rasell’s Nursery will be open  on the days of the courses, and sells a wide variety of plants.

Accommodation is also available in the village, please enquire. There is a pub in the village where lunch can be obtained.

Getting the Best from Bulbs

 

SEPTEMBER

Learn how to plant and care for bulbs in the garden and in containers. What varieties work well for a succession of spring colour.

NOVEMBER

Making Christmas Wreaths and Decorations

Save money & eat better  by growing your own vegetables & salads even in the smallest of gardens. You take home seeds and plants.

Hanging Baskets

A hands on session of choosing plants and planting up a hanging basket. Bring your own basket to fill or choose one from Rasell’s shop. In addition to the workshop cost you pay for plants & the materials you use.

Herbaceous Highlights

 

JUNE

Guided walk in the nursery, looking at what’s good at this time of year. With tips on planting, growing and maintaining. Some practical bring gloves and secateurs.

Garden Pests

 

JUNE

Practical introduction to garden pests.  Learn how to recognise some of the worst offenders and how to deal with them . What to plant to avoid pest problems including rabbit proof plants.

EQUIPMENT AND DRESS

All courses will have at least part of the time outside. You will therefore need to dress for the weather,  and must wear sensible shoes/boots. For the pruning courses you will need your own secateurs and gloves.

 

Booking conditions

Bookings will only be accepted with full payment, and refunds will only be given if we have to cancel a course due to unforeseen circumstances.

You will abide by health and safety guidelines given to ensure your safety and the safety of

others.
